Nehemiah 1:1-11

Loving Divine Family,

We enter your sacred prayer space, feeling the weight of the wrongdoings of our ancestors. We also admit our shortcomings. Though we try to do better than past generations in following your teachings, we realize our failures when dealing with your creation.

LORD God of heaven, you are slow to anger and full of compassion and mercy. We confess we have sinned against you. Thank you for keeping your covenant of love with those who love you and keeping your commands. We wait to hear from you. Thank you for keeping your promises, and for your ever- present comfort.

I seek your forgiveness today, Loving LORD, and thank you for…

We commit to learning the truth about the sins of our ancestors. Give us strength to admit the truth to ourselves, you, and others. Give us the courage to reconcile with those who feel the result of generational wrongs, so we can journey together in a good way.

With joy we praise you!

Amen!

Cherie and Donovan Mutschler
