Lord of Light, there is darkness all around us. It feels hopeless and we question why it matters. We look at our surroundings, instead of you. In the silence, we hear your gentle voice inviting us to allow the knowledge of our mortality to lead us to humility and not despair. In the dark night of the soul, you are here with us. Your ways are too marvelous for us to comprehend.

Word of God, speak, let it pour down like rain. We are listening. Your word brings healing, life and love. We take delight in knowing your word and love is for everyone. We celebrate how your word brings health and unity. May we be your conduit, so others hear you.

We are sojourners upon your Ancient Path, walking under the shadow of your Holy Mountain. We are within the veil of your sacred prayer space. Your presence encourages us. We have journeyed far. We are weary; anxious and nervous at the thought that we are close to our destination.

We enter your sacred prayer space, remembering your birthday into this physical world. We gather with friends and family. We read and reflect on the stories of your birth. We celebrate and give thanks for the many blessings of the past year.

We enter your sacred prayer space, seeking revelation of your mysteries. You embrace us, and with a welcoming kiss, you invite us to stay and listen to you. Within your veil, you remind us of how you have walked with your people since the beginning of time.

Loving God, your ways are not our ways. We confess our lust for power, reputation, and status. Thank you for your gentle reminder we are your beloved creation. You love us. Thank you, the Holy Spirit is a gift of grace, mercy, and intimacy. May we be conduits of your love and Spirit to bless others and not to control them. We love you.
